Broni Sargeson

Graduate-In-Residence (ACT)

July – August 2022

Living and working on Ngunnawal/Ngambri country (Canberra), Bronwyn Sargeson is an emerging artist primarily working in glass. She has undertaken workshops by leading artists within her field in Canberra and Adelaide and regularly assists local, national and international artists of a high calibre.

Reimagining medical procedures, interventions, and associated apparatus, her work seeks to transform the experience of a wounded body into moments of wonder and playful exploration. In 2021, Broni received several Emerging Artist Support Scheme awards including a graduate residency at the Canberra Glassworks, following her graduation at ANU’s School of Art and Design.

“The opportunity to experiment in the studio and dedicate my time to new work is incredibly valuable and I am thrilled to be working with renowned glass artist Annette Blair. I am passionate about the community at the Canberra Glassworks and am greatly inspired by the creativity and innovation in which I will be immersed.”
