Canberra Glassworks celebrates Annette Blair’s major new commission at the Australian War Memorial

Canberra Glassworks proudly announces the unveiling of Quiet Skies, a major glass installation by renowned artist Annette Blair, now permanently displayed in the newly opened Main Entrance of the Australian War Memorial.
The new Main Entrance at the Australian War Memorial was official opened by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in early February.

a collection of new works by Cobi Cockburn opens on Wednesday 31 July at 5pm.
Cobi Cockburn is one of Australia’s foremost award-winning artists working in glass. Two-time winner of the Art Gallery of Western Australia’s prestigious Tom Malone Award, Winner of the JamFactory’s FUSE Glass Prize in 2020 and finalist in the Art Gallery of New South Wales’ Wynne Prize, she has been included in the Lino Tagliapietra Prize and Talente in Germany and Emerge in the USA.

Canberra Glassworks has announced the successful applicants for the 2024 Artist in Residence program. This highly sort after program invites artists from all career levels to immerse themselves in the facility, focusing on creating new works or researching techniques using glass. While at the Glassworks, artists will have full access to all kilns, the glass blowing studio, mould-making area, and all other technical facilities.

Canberra Glassworks announces 2024 Art Group Creative Fellow

US based artist, designer, and craft-maker, Josie Gluck will be in residence at the Canberra Glassworks from 1 May to 31 July next year as the next Art Group Creative Fellow.
The Art Group Creative Fellowship program is part of the Glassworks’ annual residency program and enables a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas and professional practice between a visiting international artist and those working within Canberra Glassworks and the broader studio glass community.
