Canberra Glassworks studios and spaces offer exciting opportunities to develop and make art in a community of glassmakers that includes artists-in-residence from around Australia, visiting curators and international guests. The studios and spaces within the building offer convenient access to all our facilities and include studios, lockers, and shelves. Each studio and space can be rented by individuals. Studios may be shared by up to two tenants.
Accomodation is also available for artists as part of the residency program or visiting interstate.

Apply for a Studio + Space
Applications for studios are sought at the end of each calendar year. Applicants are required to provide their top three preferences for studios/spaces but Canberra Glassworks cannot guarantee that the applicant’s preference will be met.
New applicants will be given priority as a part of the selection criteria as well as existing tenants with exemplary credit histories.

Termination of Space or Studio
Canberra Glassworks may terminate the Period of Hire if the tenant fails to pay Canberra Glassworks the hire fee when due, or, if the Tenant fails to abide by the Workshop Regulations and the Code of Conduct or engages in any other form of misconduct detrimental to the interests of Canberra Glassworks.
The Tenant must provide Canberra Glassworks with two months’ notice of cancellation of this agreement. This notice must be provided to Canberra Glassworks in writing. Upon receipt of this notice, Canberra Glassworks will issue the tenant with an invoice for the two month residual period of this agreement.
Request Artist Accomodation
Canberra Glassworks offer shared accommodation at The Chapel located adjacent to Canberra Glassworks. This is not a serviced appartment.
The Chapel has three private bedrooms (each with a double bed) with a shared kitchen, bathroom and living area. The kitchen has cooking equipment and a microwave and fridge. There is a TV and access to internet via Ethernet. It is common that more than one person will be staying at a time. Workshop hirers of the Canberra Glassworks receive $10 discount per night off non-hirer rates.
A room in The Chapel is a fee of $65 per night for Glassworks Hirers and $75 per night for Non-Hirers.
