Designer and sculptor Oliver Tanner approached Canberra Glassworks in 2021 to make custom bubble sheet glass for a bronze door. The door, an internal screen for a private residence, was cast out of bronze and craned into the building.
The Canberra Glassworks team fused large sheets of bubbly glass in one of our large format kilns which were then waterjet cut into the shape of large scales. Each tile was ground and polished and then fitted to the bronze door.
