Nadina creates sculptural glass objects combining engraving and hot glass techniques to express ideas concerning self identity and belonging in contemporary Australia.
A recent graduate from the ANU School of Art Glass Workshop she has a previous background in textiles, fashion and graphic design. Nadina sees her exploration of female identity as a natural progression from her experience in these image obsessed fields.
Her work has developed from purely representational imagery becoming more abstracted in an effort to emphasise emotional connections with the viewer. She is motivated as much by technical and material exploration as conceptual concerns and strives to create a balance between what is technically correct and what is appropriate for the work. She is also unable to resist a pun when titling her work.
