Originally from Argentina and now based in Italy, Silvia Levenson is an established glass artist specialising in cast glass.  She is internationally renowned for her powerful lost-wax kilncast installations that explore the hidden tensions within human relationships. Her work gives form to what is often unspoken—situated in the subtle space between what we see and what we feel.

She last visited Canberra Glassworks in 2020 to deliver her intensive masterclass Thinking in Glass, guiding artists through her own methodology using lost wax casting, open-face kiln forming, and experimental printing techniques to push creative boundaries.

Levenson’s work has been exhibited worldwide and is held in major public collections including the Corning Museum of Glass, Toledo Museum of Art, MUDAC Lausanne, and Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires. She is the recipient of the Rakow Commission (2004) and the Glass in Venice Award (2016), cementing her place as one of the leading figures in contemporary glass.
