Based in Melbourne, Cheryl Edwards is a glass artist specialising in kiln forming and murrini.

Murrini is a traditional Italian glassmaking technique where molten glass is layered, stretched into rods, and sliced to reveal intricate patterns or images, such as flowers or abstract designs within the cross section. Captivated by this technique, Cheryl works between hotshop and kiln to create patterned glass vessels.

Formerly a ceramist, Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Glass from Monash University and works from her home studio. She has exhibited internationally, including at the International Biennale of Glass (Bulgaria, 2023) and the Pilchuck Auction Gala (USA, 2023 & 2024), and was a finalist for the Tom Malone Glass Prize. During her residency at Canberra Glassworks, she is creating new works for her October solo show in Melbourne.
