Residencies

Canberra Glassworks offers a variety of residencies for both emerging and established artists to support them in their practice.

Toyama Glass Studio Residency

In 2023 this program has been expanded to include an exciting opportunity for experienced glass making at the Toyama Glass Studio in Japan. Toyama is known for its glasswork, and Toyama Glass Studio is a hub for Toyama’s glass working scene. The studio is located at the foot of Mt. Kureha.

A partnership was developed with Toyama Glass Studio through the AsiaLink Reciprocal Residency Program in 2016-18. Canberra Glassworks is delighted to re-establish this exchange program which offers the opportunity for a skilled Australian glass maker to travel to Toyama and work at the Toyama Glass Studio for one month.

This program is open to all Australian glass artists and craftspeople. Please see application form for full eligibility details.

23 June 2023 – Applications must be submitted via email to Tegan Garnett, Artistic Programs Coordinator at Canberra Glassworks no later than 5pm.
