New Artistic Director appointed to Canberra Glassworks

Aimee Frodsham has been appointed as the new Artistic Director of Canberra Glassworks (CGW).

Aimee joins CGW from Parliament House where she held the role of Program Manager, Parliament House Art Collection in the Department of Parliamentary Services. Previous roles include Program Director, Canberra Glassworks and Planning Manager at the Tate, London.

“We are truly delighted to have secured someone with Aimee’s skills and experience in curating, strategic planning and innovation as Artistic Director,” Canberra Glassworks CEO Julie Skate said today.

“Aimee’s creative skills and passion for glass, along with her ability to listen, lead and collaborate will make her an invaluable contributor to our community.”

With a BA Visual Arts with Honours, Glass Department, ANU and qualifications in Practitioner Prince2 Project Management, Aimee has a strong background in art, design and project management that will ensure that CGW continues to grow in standing in the broader arts community.

Frodsham states, “I am absolutely thrilled to be given this opportunity and I’m looking forward to working with the incredible artists, staff, volunteers, students and visitors within the Canberra Glassworks community. I can’t help but be inspired every time I go in and see artists at work. I hope that this unwavering inspiration will provide the basis for developing and delivering some new and exciting programs that advocate and promote artwork, artist and facility alike.”

She has been appointed following a comprehensive search and will commence in the role in early May 2018.
