AccessCovid Access

Glassworks continues to be partially opened for access to our studio artists and regular hirers. For access to the facility, book your sessions below. Booking a session allows you to be in the building, granting you a spot out of 25 at one time. Please read through the Covid-19 safety policies and requirements before you make your booking.

If you have any issues making a booking, get in touch directly with Tegan through artistic.programs@canberraglassworks.com and she’ll help you out.

To be eligible to book you must confirm/agree to the following:

• Must be a local studio artist or hirer
• Must be abiding by all current ACT COVID-19 regulations
• You do not have any COVID-19 symptoms
•  You have not, in the preceding 14 days, been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19
• You have not been identified as a close or casual contact, have not visited a close or casual contact site as listed on the covid19.act.gov.au website, and have not been directed to self-isolate or self-quarantine by ACT Health or any other jurisdiction
• That you live in the ACT region and are eligible to enter the ACT in accordance with ACT Government requirements
• That you are inducted into CGW
• That you are insured with $20Mil public liability
• You have a current pass or ability to book and pay for equipment usage using Rezdy

When onsite at Glassworks, hirers agree to:

• Call a staff member to access the building
• Sign in using the QR code
• Wear a mask at all times
• Use the bathroom specified with the space you’re in. You will be directed to bathrooms with signage inside the building. THIS MUST BE FOLLOWED.
• Undertake a 10-15 minutes Covid wipe down after each session on areas that the individual has used or accessed (disinfecting materials are provided by CGW)
• Sign a waiver and a clean-up checklist with wipe down information undertaken before leaving
• Only use the bathroom that is allocated to this booking session
• Maintain 1.5m distancing guidelines
• Ensure that you are using and moving between spaces with 1 person/ 4mtrs2 ratio
• To follow all directions given to you by staff, accepting that regulations are changing constantly, and sessions can be cancelled without prior warning for safety reasons

 

 

The Red Room:

The red room will be available to staff, and artists booked into spaces that are not the hot shop. If you are booked into the hot shop, please have your lunch outside.

HOT SHOP

If you are booking a session to be in the hot shop, there are additional requirements for blowers:

• Enter and exit via the front glass doors ONLY
• Ware masks
• Supply their own PPE including safety glasses and leather gloves for inside Kevlar gloves
• Assistants must use their own tools and not use the blower’s tools
• Follow the wipe down checklist and sign that it’s complete
• Social distance whenever possible
• Communicate with each other about risks and concerns
• Only use the foyer bathrooms
• Eat their lunch outside with no access to Red Room or Engine Room bathrooms (short term)
• CGW has supplied cleaning and disinfectant as well as individual mouth pieces and sterilising equipment for your use
• CGW team will empty glass bins over this period so you don’t need to access the back corridor
