Studio and Art Handling Assistant

Canberra Glassworks is seeking a motivated and quality focused Studio and Art Handling Assistant to join our artistic team. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the Canberra Glassworks’ staff and artistic community.   This position has responsibilities assisting with the ongoing maintenance and development of the Canberra Glassworks studio workshops, equipment and technical supplies including the fabrication and maintenance of equipment. This includes providing technical support such as exhibition installation, artwork packing and equipment maintenance. You will also play an important role in providing technical and WHS support for artists and the public who access the facilities. This role is a hands-on, art focused, technical role suited to a practicing artist or person with excellent material skills. This is an entry level position, and we will provide training as required for the successful applicant.

Position details:

Hours: Permanent Part Time fortnightly roster of 60 hours per fortnight that will include evening and weekend work for twelve (12) months (with a 12-month option)

Salary: Grade 4, Amusement Events and Recreation Award with applicable penalty rates Sundays and Public Holidays.

Start date: to be negotiated.

Term: Initial 12-month contract (with ongoing option) Probationary period is six months
